Kona Humu

It's a simple bike with big fat tires, a sturdy steel frame and some cruiser bits and pieces for good measure. The Humu from Kona has a double triangle frame with a sloping top tube that reminds me of the Worksman Newsboy. Those tires are Kenda 26 x 2.3!

This bike is more for fun around town or on the trail than anything else. It's Kona's answer to the Swobo Folsom in many ways. If the Folsom is the tatoo-clad bar hopper then maybe the Humu is more the surfer on the way to the bonfire party.

I'd have one of those with an Rohloff Speedhub, to cover my local steep incline roads, if I could afford it. A lottery win would help...

Now THERE is a single speed commuter for the rest of us. Polish the black bits, change the stem and make the rear hub a flip flop and I'm in.

While it does remind of the Worksman Newsboy, bear in mind that the Newsboy reminds of the very first Schwinn cruiser, which itself was intended to remind of the Indian and Harley motorcycles of the day. The design is classic.

The sloping top tube on this one is simply a necessary measure to get the threadless headset up high enough for a cruiser.

Would be all over it if weren't for that suspension corrected fork. Hate the way those looked. How are you supposed to fit a fender on that

This bike is a fantastic mtb single speed. I choose this over my specialized FS $2K plus ride on several weekend rides. change pedals to clipless and you can hammer uphill. Freakin cool.

I bought this bike and replaced the seat and handle bars for aesthetics only. This bike is solid and sturdy with huge tires. Its a definite joy to ride this.
