The 2008 Fuji Track is a nice looking bike, and it has a STEEL frame. Just needs a front brake and lever (already drilled).
You ought to get some reviews going, or at least more comment on the particular niche and purpose of each bike.

Surly Steamroller and Jamis Sputnik are other STEEL frame options, but cost a bit more than the Fuji Track. The Steamroller has more clearance for tire size.
Other fixed/single STEEL framed bikes to look at: Bianchi San Jose, Raleigh One Way, Kona Paddywagon...
As for geared STEEL bikes, which some areas require: Jamis Satellite and Aurora, Fuji Touring, Trek 520, Surly Crosscheck...
Salsa has good steel too: fixed or geared.
Anon: I don't plan to provide a whole lot of commentary on this blog. Where I find reviews, I'll link to them. I'm hoping that actual owners will leave comments and provide some useful info.

I can give you all kind of information and positive comments about my weekend ride: Lemond Croix de Fer. Trek doesn't make it anymore, but still makes the Sarthe, which has the same frame but a more expensive set of components. Not sure if it qualifies for the blog, but it sure sold me on steel bikes.
The bob is heavy aluminium, but therefore makes it bombproof. With its mounts it can do a bit of everything. Interstingly it is also my winningest bike in multiple diciplines.
Which is odd that its my best race bike on the site for non-racey bikes for the rest of us.
But knowing what i know now, i would have gone for something steel.
Aiden: I too prefer steel, but I've been told that the newer grades of aluminum are just as durable. I have no way of proving or disproving that.
Erv: It's nice to hear that it's fast. It's a good to have a fast commuting bike, too. That said, this bike is probably on the margins of what a "bike for the rest of us" should be. It doesn't come with fenders and wide tires like the Raleigh One Way. No chainguard. But you can easily customize it to include a rack and fenders and wider set of tires.
